ABOUT US

This web site is dedicated to PM James Gaskins, 330 of East Gate Lodge #44 F&AM. Brother Gaskins, now deceased, was the heart and soul of Prince Hall Arms.  As the original developer, he took the concept and gave it life.   Brother Gaskins kept the project alive for many years when all but a few wanted to quit.  Although Brother Gaskins had a few detractors, he had many more friends.   He wasn't a perfect man but he was a good man.

We live in a time when freemasonry is struggling to prove it relevancy in the minds of both current and potential members - the young Black men who will replace the "gray hairs"  of our fraternity.  If we are to survive, we must be more than a social club.  WE must do things.  WE must build things. WE must serve the larger community in very visible ways. This web site was created to shed light. We can't let Prince Hall Arms die.  The people with the vision and energy to create and support such projects should be recognized as true Masons.  WE are builders. This project is too important to the Berkeley community.  It's too important to East Gate Lodge.  It's too important to our Grand Lodge.
